Makindye West MP Hon. Allan Ssewanyana has officially unveiled a massive mobilisation committee of more than 500 members drawn from various counties and parishes across the constituency, as he intensifies his preparations for the 2026 general elections.
The committee, chaired by Mr. Shafick Lubega, will spearhead grassroots mobilisation, door-to-door campaigns, and voter engagement to consolidate support for Ssewanyana.
Speaking at the launch, Lubega and fellow committee members pledged total commitment to the MP’s re-election bid, describing him as “transparent, strong and truthful”. They vowed to dedicate their energy to ensuring that the legislator secures another term in Parliament.
Ssewanyana, who has represented Makindye West since 2016, applauded the team for their dedication and promised to continue championing the needs of the people. He said his decision to form such a large mobilisation structure reflects the growing demand for organised grassroots participation in politics.
“Our strength lies in unity. With this committee, we are sure to reach every household and every voter in Makindye West. My pledge remains to serve with transparency, strength, and truthfulness,” Ssewanyana told supporters.
The mobilisation committee will soon embark on a series of parish-level engagements and community dialogues aimed at consolidating support ahead of the 2026 polls.
