As the curtain falls on the first round of the 2025 MTN Busoga Masaza Cup, excitement continues to soar across the region, with seven out of the fourteen teams finishing unbeaten and a total of 31 goals scored in just three match days.

Busiki, Kigulu, Bukono, Buzaya, Bugabula, Bunha, and Bulamogi have all gone through the first phase without tasting defeat, making them early favorites for qualification into the knockout stages.

The tournament, which has brought together passionate fans and talent scouts alike, has seen competitive action in all corners of the kingdom. From the opening matchday to the last fixture of the round, players showcased grit, skill, and ambition.


Mupere Joel Leads the Scoring Charts

The standout performance of the round came from Mupere Joel of Bukono, who netted a memorable hat-trick in his team’s dominant 4-0 win over Bunhole Bunhanumba at the Ivukula Sub County Headquarters ground on 2nd August 2025. Joel now tops the tournament’s top scorer list with 3 goals, and his form will be critical as Bukono looks to maintain their unbeaten run.
