The Kagulu group encounter between Bunha and Buzaya ended in a goalless draw on Thursday evening at Lwanyama Primary School. Played under a watery and cold atmosphere, both sides pressed hard, but the goalkeepers stood tall. Buzaya’s custodian, Kongo Ibrahim, stole the show with brilliant saves that earned him the Man of the Match award, walking away with a brand-new MTN Kabode Super phone.
The stalemate leaves the Kagulu group finely balanced with Bunha and Buzaya tied on three points apiece, while Bulamogi sit third on two points.
Attention now turns to the Nendha group on Friday, where Butembe, the defending champions, face Bukooli Namayingo at Mafubira Primary School in a do-or-die clash. With just two points from four games, Butembe must win to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last eight. Bukooli Namayingo, on the other hand, need just a draw to strengthen their survival chances.
The reverse fixture ended 2-1 in Bukooli Namayingo’s favour, with Bogere Siraji’s men coming from behind to sink Isaac Kitakule’s Butembe. Recent form also favours Bukooli Namayingo, who beat Busiki 3-0 in their last outing, while Butembe fell 2-0 to Kigulu.
Elsewhere, Busiki will host group leaders Kigulu at Kisiki College Namutumba in another crucial tie. Kigulu, who top the table with eight points, need only a draw to confirm their quarter-final place. Busiki, sitting third with five points, must win to keep their campaign alive.
Current Nendha Group Standings

2. Bukooli Namayingo – 6 points
3. Busiki – 5 points
4. Butembe – 2 points
