Table of Content

President Museveni is kicking off a four-day tour of the Busoga Sub-Region today, with the goal of assessing the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the area.

His first stop will be visits to farmers in Namutumba, Luuka, and Jinja districts, where he’ll be evaluating the impact of the PDM on agricultural production and livelihoods.

The President will also engage with farmers, industrial leaders, and the general public to get a firsthand understanding of the model’s effectiveness.
The PDM is a government initiative aimed at lifting millions of Ugandans out of poverty by transforming subsistence farming into commercial farming.
This tour will provide valuable insights into the implementation of the PDM and identify areas for improvement.

Over the next few days, President Museveni will commission several key projects, including the Presidential Skilling Hub, the Abyssinia Steel Factory, and the New Tembo Steel Factory. He’ll also address public gatherings and meet with local leaders to discuss strategies for regional development.
The President’s tour is a significant step towards evaluating the progress of the PDM and identifying areas where improvements can be made. By engaging with various stakeholders, he’ll be able to get a better understanding of the challenges faced by farmers and industrial leaders in the region and provide guidance on how to overcome them.
