The Kyabazinga of Busoga, Dr. William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV, will officially open the 2025 Busoga Masaza Cup this Saturday, July 12, at Irundu Primary School in Budiope, Buyende District.

The confirmation came from Busoga Kingdom Sports Minister Owekitibwa Amin Bbosa Nkono, who praised the organizing committee and assured fans that all preparations are in place. “Security is tight, fans are ready, and we’re set to welcome His Majesty,” said Bbosa while speaking to Busoga Times and Baba TV on Friday.The opening match will see hosts Budiope face Bukono at 3 PM — a fiery rematch after Bukono knocked Budiope out in last year’s quarterfinals.

Budiope is hungry for revenge, but Bukono remains confident.All roads lead to Irundu tomorrow as football and royalty unite for the 8th edition of the Masaza Cup.
